Actually it wasn’t, but it was a pretty dramatic evening sky in Lancaster that night.

Been doing a lot of shoots the last couple of months and I’m behind in getting them culled and edited partially because I’ve been doing 1-2 a week AND the end of June I zipped back to PA for my annual pilgrimage to see fam and friends. I have two more sets ready to be posted, but in the meantime here’s a landscape from “Amish Central” I grabbed on my travels.

And that means underwater shoots!

If you haven’t been to a Scorpius Dance Theatre performance you should go to one (www.scorpiusdance.com). Among the amazing performers I’ve seen over the last couple of years is Amy. She’s triple-jointed (at least, though I’m no expert) and was nice enough to agree to spend a couple hours of a Phoenix Tuesday evening with me. Go check out some of the results. I was able to start shooting again regularly after a nearly 3 month hiatus. I’ve posted some of the photos from my 13-May shoot in the Public Galleries.

This is a B&W version of a photo in the short series Samantha – Clothes Make the Woman
It is the first in a series of real life stories and interviews with people I photograph. My goal is to marry my lifelong interest in writing with my more recent passion of photography.

Everyone has as story. It can be as macro as your life and as micro as what you wear. During our first session together Samantha talked about how she used to dress vs how she prefers to dress now. I asked why the change because there’s a reason for everything we do and even the shortest answer speaks volumes.

It is my hope others who like my visual work will be willing to open up about some aspect of their lives either because they are curious to see what we create, or they have a story that wants to be told, or maybe they just want to have a page about them : P  Whatever the reason, I invite you to come share with me.
