I had the privilege of making some photos with Carolina last week as she nears her due date. She had three poses in mind, but then after taking care of those she indulged me with two more ideas I had.

I am grateful for the opportunity to share in this very special time in her family’s life. In the last few years I’d been lined up to do photos for several expectant mothers only for scheduling conflicts, health issues, self-image issues, and one miscarriage to prevent the shoots from happening (I’m happy to add that the couple with the miscarriage now have an adorable baby girl). Pregnant women are beautiful and I’m grateful to have been able to make these portraits with her.

Public Galleries

Yesterday a member of the Texas Photographic Society notified me that the juror for the contest to which I’d submitted the above image accepted the above image as one of 50 pieces for their next show. The show will be at “The Silos in Houston” starting October 26th.

I made the photo from the rotating lounge of a hotel in Los Angeles in April of 2018 and I think it’s one of my better landscapes, even though it’s in “portrait” orientation. I’m quite pleased that it was selected and will be on display in print form.

Now I just have to go make the print : P

I shared this directly on FB earlier, but this photo of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department in Phoenix will be on digital display in Hungary in October.

Woke up today to find that I’d received an honorable mention for not ONE but TWO photos I submitted to this year’s contest. You can find them on my Published / On Display page. Look for the round green badge : )

What’s that?

Something from July is in the Public Galleries. Better go have a look!

I imagine we all see different things in the clouds.

I suspect our state of mind influences that.

Yes!

Because I found out that one of my photos will be displayed digitally in the BBA Gallery (bba-gallery.com) in Berlin, Germany early in September. This is a result of placing high (enough) in a GuruShots contest a month or two ago.

I imagine it’ll just be on a rotating slide show with many many others…

But still…!!! : P

The summer theme, aside from water, seems to be trying to catch up. I’m still behind by one shoot. Typically I try to do one, edit one so I don’t get behind and people don’t have to wait more than 7-10 days at most, but that’s not been the case with the number of shoots I’ve gotten in and the 3 trips I took.

Oh well, good problems to have, right?
