Actually in all fairness I have no idea if the magazine is rubbish or not, but they chose the ever-popular “Into Dreamtime” image for their 9th issue, so someone has taste : P

This little picture was chosen from among 954 entries to be part of Art Fluent’s online show for their theme “Of the Earth.” You can see the entire gallery here.
This photo was accepted to the online gallery for Photoplace Gallery’s “Composed” show, which technically starts May 28th, but you can see all the accepted images here.
This type of photo is probably still my favorite to make despite the success of the underwater photos and the fun of the fine art stuff.
Berenice and I were going to photograph some yoga poses on a mini-hike, but I hurt my ankle playing pickle ball (look it up, it’s all the rage). So we settled for some studio shots, which are none-the-less impressive thanks to her control over her body. Hopefully once my ankle heals we can hit the trail and make some outdoor images as well. In the meantime these should tide us over.
There is a monthly photography contest called Shoot the Frame. Each month they choose a winner in the face, land, and wild categories.
For March I was a finalist for face and finalist for land (need to find me some wild I guess).

I was privileged enough to be permitted to photograph the dress rehearsal for the Scorpius Dance Theatre Wednesday night. They are performing their current show David + Lisa at the Herberger Theatre in downtown Phoenix in the outdoor space (which I really liked!) masked and socially distanced of course.
I have been given approval to share the first few I found time to edit. Eventually I’ll make a page with whatever the full collection ends up being, but for now you can see batch # 1 here.

I have two pieces in the online show: the very familiar to some “Into Dreamtime” as well as one of my best images of Mt Fuji in Japan.

At the bottom of that gallery page you can also vote for the people’s choice award. I dislike these sorts of things as it comes down to who has the most friends voting for them, but if you want to leave a vote for either piece I appreciate the love. You can only vote once.
Sometimes we just like to do something else.
Sometimes we like to do something silly for the fun of it.
This is the joy of working with the same people over and over; the inhibitions come down and people can just be their silly selves.
And of course the brownies don’t hurt either.
