Another series from 2021, this is from the first (and so far only) time Mizzfittt and I’ve been able to work together, but I think we did nicely with her concept.
There always has to be a first shoot. These are from January 2021, my first shoot with Lexy. We’ve gone on to do about half a dozen or so more in the last year, but this is where it started.
In this case long gone.
As I continue to slowly post things that were shot in the last year but were never posted for whatever reason (in this case, holding off on a magazine submission), this one seemed a fun one to get some screen time. I shot this with Caitlyn at The Grove in Gilbert, AZ in January 2021. It’s a neat little location when it’s kept up.
I didn’t post a lot of new work last year, so I’m hoping to rectify that by sharing some of it this year. Here are the rest of the edited files from the blacklight shoot I did with Caitlyn in November.
Sure you do!
A remarkable calendar from Indie Treasure!
I submitted two photos from my trip to Page in March and one of them (they didn’t tell me which one) was accepted to be part of the 2022 wall calendar.
You can pre-order them here for $19.99. They’re published December 23rd and after that they go up to $30. Plus you want to get it for as much of January as possible, right??
Below are the two I submitted, so one of them is in the calendar. It’ll be a surprise for me too : P
The Red Bluff Art Gallery has a virtual exhibition up for “Cats and Dogs,” and as some of you may know, I have cats. Three of my four submissions were accepted for the virtual gallery. It’s a little hard to navigate as it’s set up as a virtual gallery, so I’ve included the screen shots after I found my trio.
Jaina is still with me as of the time of this writing at the age of 5 years and 4 months.
Benny was last seen in August of 2020.
Dani was last seen on a stormy night August of 2018. She is the mother of Jaina and Faith (not shown here) and many more who are no longer with us.
Another two finalists from Shoot the Frame from the October submissions. Both love water, and at least one can balance a ball on her nose. Maybe that’ll be next month’s photo.
You can see all the month’s winners and nominees here.
The seals (sea lions?) photo is from the Alaska trip in June. The young lady is the daughter of a friend during an annual session this past spring where I used a white background instead of my usual black. Both are striking and have their advantages.
A preview from today’s shoot with Model Caitlyn and Makeup Artist Becky Jo. Always a fun time with these ladies. I’m still working on shoots from LAST weekend so it’ll be a little before I get to the rest, but many of the shoots I do these days aren’t necessarily family friendly or are for private clients, so it’s nice to be able to share something on this page : )
I’ve been doing these for a few years and some may recall the ones from three years ago were pretty raw.
This year I wasn’t sure what to do until I remembered the Kintsugi bowl that I had. The premise behind it is that when a pot is broken you repair it with gold and no two broken pots look the same, so every pieces is unique, and still beautiful, and still functional.
In the last three years I have felt broken a couple of times, and so it seemed fitting this year, when I think I finally feel whole again, to sit with the bowl to remind myself others, and those of you who many be going through hard times now, you are still beautiful, and you re still useful.
