Project: The Android

This may have been my most involved project as far as a concentrated effort for a short period of time (vs a project slowly collected over years). I made a 20 image shot list, made a prop list including furniture, and treated it like a play. Originally I was going to shoot in my house to give it more realism, but for various reasons that was not feasible. The obvious solution was to use the black box studio I have, which originally had been built to double as a black box stage for the comedy troupe when I belonged to one as it was a similar size to our performing space. This necessitated a change in style as well as buying some cheap furniture.

As we are on the verge of AI becoming close to sentient (because apparently NO ONE remembers Terminator 1 or 2…the ONLY Terminator movies in existence…don’t argue with me.) This series is a play in two acts and is meant to combine a humorous element with a less than humorous cautionary tale.

It took the better part of two days with very hard work from Perrin, Heather Myers, Margo, and me to put it together. I am grateful to everyone involved and while it’s been more or less ready to present for a while, I’ve finally gotten around to sharing it a year later.

Without further ado I present “The Android”

Dramatis Personae:

The Android – Perrin Marie

The Human – Mike Potts

Act One: The Arrival

Act Two: The Departure
