This silly idea came from a joke that has been used before but in this instance it was Levy Rozman of GothamChess (check him out on YouTube) who said (paraphrased) “I know, you’ve never lost to Magnus,” in one of his videos to us, his low chess-rated audience. The joke of course is that most of us will never play the great Magnus Carlsen, the five time world champion who chose not to defend his title a sixth time because he was just tired of winning (not an exact quote : P ) It’s like saying “Have you ever seen Batman and me in the room at the same time?” Clearly I’m not Batman, but the implication is…well, you get it.

So never one to leave a joke lying about, I decided to make a mini-series out of it that could be added to in the future. Now before anyone gets bent, this is a joke. It’s meant to be humorous and to a degree self-deprecating. If you like, it’s a dubious “honor” to those who talk big and can’t do. I admire all the greats mentioned and un-mentioned below for their skill, discipline, and in most cases making the world a better place somehow by sharing their God-given talents for the rest of us to admire.
